In a male dominated country like India, there are still a few resilient women who have not just survived but have risen to unshakable positions because they are tough as nails. They have forced the world to think that with efforts and dedication, this country will soon be a gender-neutral space.

Doctors are seen as a messiah – a hand of God sent to save the people! Thus, on this Women’s Day woman, we would like to celebrate the inspirational journey of some of the finest female doctors, who have shared their contributions to the field of stem cell therapy. Working for NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute, they have saved and improved the lives of hundreds of their patients suffering from neurological or muscular disorders.

DR. NANDINI GOKULCHANDRAN

Dr Nandini Gokulchandran

Dr. Nandini completed her 4 years of post-graduate fellowship in the field of Developmental Neurology and stem cell research at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. With thorough research of stem cell research & regenerative medicine, she revolutionized stem cell therapy in India, refining it for sure treatment.

She has a number of scientific publications to her credit of publications that narrate the role of stem cell therapy in treating the incurable neurological disorders.

DR. HEMANGI SANE

Dr Hemangi Sane

She is an Indian physician, known for her remarkable contribution in transforming the lives of patients suffering from neurological disorders. Her work was duly acknowledged in 2013-14 when she received an award from the then Mayor of Mumbai city on International Woman’s Day.

Dr. Hemangi is an ‘American Board of Internal Medicine’ certified physician and a member of Indian Medical Association, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and Stem Cell Society of India. She has launched a series of programs to transform the health of her patients in India.

DR. PRERNA BADHE

Dr Prerna Badhe

Dr. Prerna is known for her work in the developmental neuroscience. She holds an award for research in Basic /Applied Sciences to evaluate the effectiveness of Embryonic Stem Cells and is a member of the International Society of Neuropathology, British Society of Neuropathology and the International Society of Stem Cell, USA.

She has done vast research at NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute, discovering new information for improving quality of life for people with spinal cord injury and other neurodegenerative conditions.

These are some of the most talented women doctors in India who have made significant changes with their ideas, roles and hard work in the medical profession. Let us salute them for their dedication, personal care and efforts for contributing their services in saving lives and restoring the health of patients across the globe!
