HOW DOES GROUP THERAPY HELP?

Individuals with neurological disorders or neurodevelopmental disorders, often find socialising or communicating difficult. This doesn’t eliminate the need or desire to communicate with their peers or individuals older to them. At the same time they may experience anxiety in approaching others or meet with rejection because they are unable to understand the other person’s response or behavior. And this causes them distress and a lack of will to initiate social interaction. Group Therapy acts on the following spheres:

Improved Social Skills & Learning

Group Problem Solving

Conflict Resolution

Feeling of belonging

Better self esteem

More Group Engagement

Better Control of Life

We offer..

We encourage parents to observe the group therapy sessions and help/guide their children in the process of group activities. Following this, we motivate them to model aspects of group therapy to further facilitate improvements. Activities like reading social stories, engaging in competitive group play (Example: catch-catch, running races, musical chairs etc.). With this we hope to transfer maximum learning and continue the benefits of neuro-regenerative rehabilitation therapy and individual therapies.

WHY IS GROUP THERAPY RECOMMENDED AFTER CELL THERAPY?

After cell therapy, an intensive rehabilitation routine needs to be initiated. This may prove stressful for individuals. Group therapy after cell therapy helps dissipate the stress and make it something to look forward to. At NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute we aim to target the above mentioned areas of functioning through a holistic approach like providing with neuro-regenerative rehabilitation therapy, individual therapies targeting physical, language, sensory, behavioral and intellectual functioning thereby empowering our children and their caregivers.
